I like to carry my camera with me on my shoulder so that I can have quick and easy access to the camera. This bag allows me to carry an extra lens, as well. The size is just right for my camera with a 28-200mm lens.
I didn't want a zipper as it is slow to open and my old bags have zippers that no long work properly or are broken. Being able to control how much of the velcro to use is a great touch. So far I'm happy with it. The only concern might be if I would get caught in a downpour. The rain protection bag that's provided hopefully won't be required but I can see how it would be good if one went on a long hike.
